These compositions have not been in print for more than thirty years and more than one generation of harp beginners have played them. These pieces were designed to give young harpists with limited technique and limited musical knowledge some pieces of musical interest within their capability. When they were conceived many fine musician friends said that music could not be written in this manner, without kers and sharps and flats but obviously it was done, and moreover successfully. Missing for many years, the original drawings by Columbian artist and sculptor, Eduardo Ramirez Villamizar have been restored in this edition. The pupil should form the habit of arranging the pedals according to the diagram at the beginning of each piece with a good playing position and without looking at the pedals.
